THE PHILOSOPHY

Helping your team feel confident and educated - let's raise the standards of Dementia care in your setting.

My philosophy is that high-quality dementia care can be safe, effective, compassionate and evidence based, while remaining realistic about the pressures faced within health and social care. Dementia training matters for the workforce. It matters because it is foundational to how quality care is provided and how we meet current CQC standards and any future standards around education.

Informed by unique real life experience and leadership roles within health and social care and the NHS. My approach focuses on helping those who care for people living with Dementia reach a genuine human understanding. Underpinned by person-centred practice, staff confidence, meaning and leadership in everyday care through positive connection and bridging the gap.

I believe training should be practical, supportive and responsive to the needs of each service, enabling teams to deliver respectful, dignified, individualised care that provides better, more lasting outcomes for people living with dementia and improves confidence in those who support them.

When you choose Connected Dementia Training you choose a human being who understands you, the challenges you face, your staff and importantly those you care for. I bring with me a long history of being involved with Dementia care; a dynamic blend of unique anecdotal experience and clinical insight as a registered nurse, including advocating for the education of Delirium in those over 65 years of age.

The training I deliver is built upon multiple years of experience, clinical evidence and mapped by the 'Dementia Training Standards Framework'. Individuality should be recognized throughout the way we care and the way we teach. Therefore, I see every team as having an individual requirement. This is why I have set out to deliver tailored teaching sessions which are based on a framework, but built for real world application.

STEP 04

Delivery of training

A blended approach which is face to face, smaller groups, interaction, activities and facilitating open discussion.

Typically I conduct sessions over 4 hours for up to 12 people at a time for a set fee.

This is delivered with a powerpoint presentation over your TV.

This can be booked for when it is convenient for you and your teams. I understand bringing staff together can be difficult therefore I offer flexibility of delivery. For example, several sessions could take place over mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends.

If you have more than 24 staff there is a charge of an individual there after, however all costs can be discussed.

I provide proof of attendance for CPD with individualised and branded certificates posted to you after the event.

“What stood out most in Hannah’s training was the depth of personal experience she brought to the sessions. Having grown up spending time in Care Homes and around people living with dementia from a young age, her guidance feels genuinely heartfelt and grounded in real life. She has a wonderful ability to bring gentle humour to an emotional subject, creating a space that feels both supportive and uplifting.”
